So... we're making progress on "In The Dark Soul". Got the first chapter nearly done. Here's a synopsis.
It introduces our "Main Characters..." I guess, if you want to call them that. Our dark influence, Debora Hansen. She's the sister of the previous resident of the house. She dies in a very bloody fight with local police when neighbors call the police on her for brandishing a shotgun at a bunch of harmless kids playing in the area and in her yard.
Then we introduce the light influence. Anna Leigh and Johnathan. They are a young couple on a search for a new house, big family and bright professional future for our friend Johnathan in his career as a salesman for Postum Cereal company in Battle Creek. As you can guess, that doesn't exactly go as planned. But if I say any more, that would be considered a spoiler alert.
That's where we're at. So. Now what?
Chapter 2 will introduce the fictitious me. That's right. This is where the true fiction kicks in. Starting in 1971, I arrive at the house from the hospital upon being born and the rest is, as they say, history. Or is it?
More later. Evil laughter.
